Greater NY grants finance projects designed to build nonprofit infrastructure and financial sustainability.
Greater NY has invested $1.4 million since 2010 to test and implement new business approaches developed through Greater NY partnership discussions – approaches with potential for replication across the nonprofit sector. Awards are between $15,000 and $50,000. Outcomes include: financial reporting tools for Boards, multi-year budgeting, cost-benefit analyses for government contracts, earned income business development, positioning for managed care business opportunity, rebranding, and social media strategy.
"My Greater NY partner is the only person I have access to who thinks about what I do solely as a business. With everyone else I need to wear multiple hats. With him, I can focus on how to make our business model sustainable.”
